Fuse lit for Africa's biggest Gay party

16 August, 2011

JOHANNESBURG — The 5th Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball promises to be the biggest and best ever

Plans are well underway for Africa's biggest gay Pride after-party – the annual Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball – guaranteed to set Joburg alight during the Pride weekend on October 1st.

Now in its fifth year and well on the way to becoming the iconic event on the world's gay calendar, the Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball will, due to popular demand, be returning to JET – its original, super-glam home at the Dome with purposely added bars and extended areas, to comfortably accommodate the masses.

And, backed by the world's biggest gay dating portal, Gaydar.co.za, the Fireman's Ball is sure to ignite even the most jaded partygoer this year.

"Gaydar started out in South Africa over 10 years ago, and always enjoys a home-coming. The Fireman's Ball just keeps getting better year after year, and Gaydar is also pulling out all stops to keep you coming back for more hot guys," says Craig McCormack from Gaydar.co.za.

He adds: "We've completely revamped the site and we hope you'll join us in celebrating our new look this Pride. See you at the Fireman's Ball (here at Gaydar we just love a good hose-pipe!), where we'll also be giving away special edition Gaydar goodies."

Says Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball producer Pieter Rossouw, from SA Events: "Last year we had almost 3,000 revellers partying into the early hours of the morning. Be prepared – it will only get bigger and hotter."

The 2011 edition of the Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball will feature a (soon-to-be-revealed) scorching-hot headline act, backed by South Africa's best entertainment talent; including the always-popular 5FM DJ line-up. All this coupled with those oh-so-sexy firemen party fluffers, the best in digital projection and top-end d├ęcor design and production to create the ultimate entertainment explosion.

All the details and more hot surprises will be announced on the 23rd of August. Watch the press, visit firemansball.co.za, 'Like' the Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for regular updates.– Issued by SA Events
