Joburg Pride hosts a fundraising film premiere
September 17, 2009
JOHANNESBURG — Joburg Pride is hosting a special fund-raising screening of the new film Pedro: written by the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Milk. This exclusive premiere takes place at Cinema Nouveau Cedar Square (Fourways, Joburg) on Thursday 24th September.
Pedro is the true story of Pedro Zamora's rise from humble roots to becoming one of the most instantly recognizable HIV/AIDS activists in the United States as a result of his high profile role on MTV's pioneering reality television series, The Real World. The film is written by Dustin Lance Black, who earlier this year won the Oscar for his work on Milk.
Tickets for the premiere are R80 per person, which includes a coke and popcorn! It’s not only great value, and an opportunity to hobnob and network, but you’ll also be playing your part in supporting Joburg Pride 2009, which takes place on October 3rd presented by 94.7 Highveld Stereo. To book your tickets, contact Natasha on 076 454 2076 or via email@example.com.
The screening also heralds the launch of Pride Month at Cinema Nouveau nationwide, presented in association with Joburg Pride 2009. From Friday, 25 September, Pride Month will screen three gay-themed films each for two weeks only, exclusive to Cinema Nouveau (25 September – PedroO; 9 October – College Boys Live; 23 October – Little Ashes). Check out the Pride Schedule on www.joburgpride.org for more information.
The Joburg Pride fundraising screening of “Pedro” takes place on Thursday 24th September at 8pm at Cinema Nouveau Cedar Square (Fourways, Joburg). To book your exclusive tickets, call Natasha on 076 454 2076 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
