NEW YORK, NY — Music legend, philanthropist and gay icon, Sir Elton John, has announced that he will be performing a special one night only concert to raise money for Hillary Clintons campaign on April 9 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. It will be Johns first solo concert at the venue in eight years.

A long-time friend of the Clintons, John sent an email to Clinton supporters today about the upcoming performance aimed at building excitement around the event.

There is nothing I like better than throwing a party for a good friend, John wrote in the email. Will you come out to support my friend Hillary Clinton at a special, one-night-only solo concert in New York? I promise this will be one night that you wont want to miss.

The pricing schedule for the Elton and Hillary: One Night Only concert event includes two tiers – box office seats at $125 or $250, and choice seats available at HillaryClinton.com for prices of $500, $1,000 or $2,300 – the maximum allowed for a campaign contribution.

So far the event is already shaping up to be a big success for the Clinton campaign. Though tickets only went on sale last week, all box office seats at $125 and $250 had sold out at press time.

Supporters who raise $10,000 or more for the concert will gain access to a private reception with Mr. John, Mrs. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

According to Federal Elections Commission rules, the Hillary Clinton campaign will be responsible for covering all costs of putting on the event, but beyond that should be free and clear in terms of fundraising dollars raised from the celebratory bash at the 6,000 seat venue.

Elton John previously performed a fundraising concert for former Vice-President Al Gore in support of his presidential campaign. Gay Link Content
