LOS ANGELES — A-list actress Julia Roberts has joined forces with her good friend, fashion powerhouse Giorgio Armani, to design a bracelet that will be sold to commemorate World AIDS Day. This marks the first time that the Italian designer has partnered with a celebrity to create a product.
The leather bracelet available in red and brown features a Tree of Life design and the initials J.R. inside, according to an Armani press release. The materials and colors were both chosen by Mr. Armani himself.
"Julia has helped to create a beautiful accessory... which will be a visible reminder of the part that we can all play in fighting AIDS in Africa," Armani said in a statement.
Armani, a long time AIDS activist has said that proceeds for the new item will go to (PRODUCT) RED, a business initiative started by U2 front man Bono and Bobby Shriver to help combat HIV/AIDS in Africa.
The well intentioned bracelet will sell for $175 for women and $195 for men, and will be available online starting on December 1st. The item will also be available in stores starting February 1st. – Gay Link Content
