Paris Hilton turns boos to cheers for latest movie

LOS ANGELES — Critics loathed the movie Showgirls when it debuted in the fall of 1994, and yet – as with so many other camp classics – the film became an instant gay classic.
Paris Hilton may well be heading down that same road... what began as an entrance to boos during Spike TV's recent Scream Awards gave way to applause once the audience had screened a clip of her latest movie, the musical horror flick, Repo! The Genetic Opera.
The film, directed by Saw II, III and IV's Darren Lynn Bousman, tells the story of an organ-financing program with one hell of a repo clause if you can't pay up.
Expect blood, guts and the same similar draw that caused teens nationwide to turn out in droves to watch hottie Paris Hilton get her head chopped off in 2005's House of Wax remake.
The hotel heiress, who has learned a thing or two about playing it calm, cool and collected with the press in recent months, laughed off the initial boos at the Scream Awards and stood proudly alongside co-stars Bill Moseley and Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Anthony Stewart Head.
Next thing she knew, those boos had turned to cheers, and Hilton, who introduced the clip to the film with her co-stars, made away with one of the evening's longest rounds of applause.
Repo! The Genetic Opera is due in theatres next year. Hilton recently finished filming on the upcoming comedy The Hottie and the Nottie. – Gay Link Content
