New York (dpa) – Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has dealt with her acrimonious split from Ben Affleck by getting engaged to Latin singer Marc Anthony, the New York Post reported Monday.

The paper said that Lopez has given back the pink diamond engagement ring given to her by Affleck and is now wearing a ring given to her by Anthony.

"She is wearing a huge diamond ring on the middle finger of her left hand," said an unidentified Lopez pal. "It is a diamond band with a huge square clear diamond in the middle and the square diamond is surrounded by more tiny diamonds. It is an engagement ring." A rep for Lopez would only say: "I don't know about that ring."

Los Angeles (dpa) – Andre 3000, one-half of the chart-topping hip-hop group OutKast, is developing a cartoon series for the Cartoon Network that will draw on his previous experience as an illustrator, according to The Hollywood Reporter Monday.

The rapper is expected to contribute music to the project and is already being compared to the Beatles' classic "Yellow Submarine".

Andre 3000 also is already enjoying a blossoming film career with a role in the Get Shorty sequel, Be Cool. He also is slated to star in a Jimi Hendrix biopic.

Los Angeles (dpa) – Latin heartthrob Ricky Martin has been slapped with a 63.5-million-dollar lawsuit by his former manager, who accuses Martin of failing to honour the terms of their contract.

According to EOnline.com Angelo Medina's breach-of-contract suit stems from the manager's decision to resign as Martin's overall manager, whilst continuing to represent the 32-year-old singer in their native Puerto Rico.

Martin however preferred to put his career in the hands of manager Benny Medina (unrelated to Angelo) and to dispense entirely with the services of his former agent. Martin's attorney, Edgardo Cartagena, dismissed Medina's allegations as "frivolous." "Angelo Medina wants to be Martin's manager in Puerto Rico, but Mr. Martin doesn't want that," Cartagena says. "It's essentially about money."

"It's a contemporary family comedy," producer Billy Gerber told The Hollywood Reporter. "We aren't looking to make it some campy remake but a mainstream family movie in the vein of School of Rock."

Los Angeles (dpa) – Pop star Michael Jackson is still facing numerous child molestation charges but there is one legal challenge he can wipe off his slate.

According to website EOnline.com he has settled a breach-of-contract lawsuit brought against him by concert promoter Marcel Avram, who won a judgement against Jackson for pulling out of two Millennium Day concerts.

In March of 2003, a California jury ordered Jackson to pay $5.3 million to the German promoter who had sued the singer for $21.2 million.

Jackson lawyers immediately appealed the verdict but later secretly settled for an undisclosed sum on the same day, Dec. 18 2003, that Santa Barbara County District Attorney Thomas Sneddon charged Jackson with allegedly molesting a child.

Rapper 50 Cent brawls with crowd at concert

Los Angeles (dpa) – Chart-topping rapper 50 Cent dove into the crowd and started fighting after someone threw water at him during a Boston nightclub performance on Saturday, according to news reports Monday.

Police were called in to break up the feud, and are also investigating whether a nearby shooting was related to the incident.

"He removed his gold chain, handed it to someone on the stage next to him and jumped off the stage into the crowd," said Michael J. Barrasso, owner of the Hippodrome Club where the incident took place.

The rapper's entourage, including bodyguards, also jumped off the stage before security guards and police officers pushed the rapper and his entourage back on stage, where he then finished the song, Barrasso said.
